CAROL YUR, ATTORNEY

Carol’s practice focuses on employment law counseling and partnering with companies of all sizes and industries to serve as a trusted advisor for their employment needs.  In addition, with over 10 years of litigation experience, Carol bridges the gap between risk management and effective legal strategy.

Carol has counseled employers on federal, state, and local employment laws, including personnel policies and practices, wage and hour, leaves of absence and accommodations, reductions in force, risk management, internal investigations, litigation avoidance, and worker trainings and compliance.

Carol is experienced in defending employers in wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) lawsuits, in cases alleging employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and in administrative actions before the California Civil Rights Department, California Labor Commissioner’s Office, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Carol also has significant experience representing clients in complex civil litigation in both the trial courts and on appeal.  Carol has represented clients in complex business disputes involving breach of contract and fraud.

Prior to joining Mill Law Center, Carol was a labor and employment attorney at the global law firms of Dentons and DLA Piper.

After attending University of Michigan Law School, Carol twice served as a law clerk, first to Judge Lois H. Goodman of the U.S. District Court of New Jersey and then in Los Angeles County Superior Court, where she drafted opinions on demurrers; writs of mandate and attachment; and various motions, including for an appointment of a receiver, injunctive relief, and set-aside of a default judgment.
